Information for Service Providers

Phoenix is an independent, specialist organisation that provides therapeutic services to people who have experienced intra-familial (parent, uncle/aunt, sibling, cousin, grandparent) and/or extra-familial (baby sitter, priest, teacher, etc.) childhood sexual abuse

Clients may be:

  • Adult survivors of CSA
  • Child survivors of CSA (aged 5 to 17 years)
  • Partners or family member of a CSA survivor

We offer counselling from the following location:

  • Coolbinia: 404 Walcott St Coolbinia

All Phoenix counsellors are tertiary qualified and have additional specialised training in trauma and sexuality. Counselling is time unlimited.

Counselling is based on a humanistic, person-centred model and draws on a range of therapeutic interventions. An integrative approach is therefore used for addressing thoughts, feelings, behaviours, somatic problems, sexuality issues, and interpersonal styles. Specialised interventions include EMDR.

Phoenix’s sliding fee scale ensures that services are accessible to everyone. Clients referred by the Department for Child Protection incur no fees.
